Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is fresh off of a record-setting Olympics and is now the most accomplished player in Team USA Men’s Basketball history. Durant has also been making significant moves off the court, with his most recent being concerning to some.
Durant joined the “Up & Adams” show on Friday to announce his partnership with FanDuel.

“Yeah, partnering with FanDuel,” Durant said. “I’m excited to be here, man… Pick some NFL games, have some fun. FanDuel is for everyday people, man. Everybody is watching football together, it feels like, through FanDuel. I wanted to be a part of that.”

Many fans on social media are voicing their concerns about a professional athlete partnering with a sportsbook. While he may not be involved in FanDuel’s basketball endeavors, it’s still slightly concerning to think about what may occur as a result of their partnership.
Durant is doing something that is unprecedented and although it may not have any negative impacts, it could also start a chain reaction that the sports world is not ready for.
