Golden State could be in trouble on Saturday if it does not have “Playoff Jimmy.”
Jimmy Butler suffered a nasty fall in Game 2 of a first round Western Conference playoff series between the Warriors and Houston Rockets. He scored three points with two rebounds in eight minutes on Wednesday as Golden State suffered a 94-109 loss, tying the series at one game apiece. Butler was huge for the Warriors in Game 1, scoring 25 points and grabbing seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals. He made 10-of-19 shots from the field in the Warriors 98-85 win over the Rockets.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Butler has been diagnosed with a deep glute muscle contusion and his status for Saturday is in ‘jeopardy.’ The good news is that the MRI showed no structural damage or fractures. Golden State needs Butler’s defensive prowess and shot-making ability for Saturday as the series goes to the bay area for the next two games.
