All-Star guard Jackie Young has agreed to a one-year, 1.19 million regular max deal to remains with the Las Vegas Aces, per ESPN’s Alexa Philippou.
The new deal is officially the first one million dollar deal in WNBA history. Young is a four-time All-Star and has established herself as one of the best two-way players in the league.
She was anticipated to be one of the most coveted free agents on the market this season, but Philippou reports that she didn’t even attend any meeting with other teams before staying with the Aces.
Young was drafted with the first overall pick by the Aces in 2019 and has quickly made her mark. She averaged 16.5 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game last season as Las Vegas secured the WNBA title.
The Aces can now work towards retaining their other two stars, A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray. Luckily for them, Wilson has already revealed her intention to remain in Las Vegas.
