The Indiana Hoosiers thrashed the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl, winning by a final score of 38-3. It was Indiana’s first ever Rose Bowl victory.
Indiana completely controlled the offensive side of the ball, with over 400 offensive yards and no turnovers. Indiana led the FBS in third down conversions and that trend continued today with the Hoosiers going 8/14 on third downs. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza would finish with more touchdowns (3) than incompletions (2).
For Alabama, it was an offensive showing that they would rather forget. Quarterback Ty Simpson would get injured and replaced by Austin Mack, who would struggle to gain any momentum. Alabama was limited to 193 offensive yards and was 3/11 on third downs.
Indiana will face Oregon in the semifinals, who the Hoosiers beat 30-20 back on October 11th. The winner will advance to the National Championship
