It’s now been 10 days since Missouri Tigers runningback Ahmad Hardy was shot in the leg at a concert in Mississippi and he took to social media Wednesday with a positive message.

“I’m starting the road to my rehab,” he said. “I want to thank everybody for all the support and all your prayers. Thank (you) everybody for everything. I’m back on the road to success.”

Hardy was attending a concert in his home state of Mississippi when he was shot in the upper leg while attending a concert at a bike club, with at least one other person also being injured.

It was later reported that Hardy was a passenger in a vehicle that was leaving the concert when the shooting started. Laurel Police Department told the Kansas City Star that Hardy was an innocent bystander that was not part of the root cause of the shooting.

Hardy had surgery hours after the shooting and was released from the hospital two days later.

He’s coming off a terrific season for the Tigers in which he racked up 1,649 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz said there’s currently no timetable for his return.

“It’ll be several weeks before we actually get a timeline,” Drinkwitz said this week. “There’s some internal healing that has to occur before we get to any type of strenuous activities, which would then dictate a timeline on his return.”
