The New York Giants are starting Jameis Winston at quarterback against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday if rookie Jaxson Dart is still out, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.
With Dart in the concussion protocol, it’s unlikely that he will be available to play, opening up the opportunity for Winston.

He passes veteran Russell Wilson on the depth chart, who was originally the team’s starting QB before being moved to the backup spot for Dart. It appears that Winston will now be the backup when the rookie returns.

Winston started seven games for the Browns last season but has yet to play for the Giants so far this season.
“When a team gives me the opportunity and believes in me, they give me a job, I want to play for that team and do my best for that team,” Winston told reporters when asked if he has a desire to be a starting QB.
He is 36-51 as a starter in his career and will likely be called upon Sunday to help put the 2-8 Giants back on track.
