The Louisiana State Tigers are now a few days into their search for a new head coach after firing Brian Kelly. A familiar face is now voicing his desire for a return to the program.

Former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, who led the team to a national championship in 2019, was asked if he would return to the team.

“Are you kidding me? I’m one phone call away,” Orgeron said on Wednesday. “I just gotta get in my truck, I could be there today.”

He even said he would consider returning as an assistant coach under Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin is a longtime colleague of Orgeron and is currently the head coach for Ole Miss.

The Tigers had a 51-20 record in the six seasons with Orgeron at the helm, including a 15-0 season that produced a championship in 2019.
