Duke Blue Devils claim top overall seed in NCAA Tournament

The Duke Blue Devils are officially the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 men’s NCAA Tournament after winning their second straight ACC Tournament title.

Coming off an 11-game winning streak with a 32-2 record, the Blue Devils are currently the favorites to take home the National Championship.

With Duke atop the East Region, Arizona is the top seed in the West with Michigan atop the Midwest and Florida claiming the South.

In one of the most anticipated moments of Sunday’s reveal, the Miami (OH) Redhawks barely made the cut. They are set to face SMU in a First Four matchup for the No. 11 seed.

On the flipside, Auburn was not selected to receive a bid as a bubble team.

The East Region may arguably be the strongest with juggernauts that include Michigan State, UConn, Kansas and St. John’s.

In the West, Darius Acuff and the Arkansas Razorbacks will look to make a run as the fourth seed while Arizona looks to make the Final Four for the first time since 2001.

The Michigan Wolverines lead a Midwest that features other elite squads like Iowa State, Virginia and Texas Tech.

As March Madness begins, underdog teams will look to string together stunning Cinderella runs while the top-tier teams hope to showcase their talent with a dominant run.
