The desert has put its money on its biggest priority heading into next season.
Devin Booker, 28, is entering the prime of his NBA career coming off his 10th season with the Phoenix Suns. He is one of the most talented faces in the league as a shooting guard, wrapping up his eighth consecutive year averaging 25+ points per game.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday that Phoenix awarded Booker a two-year, $145 million maximum contract extension. His deal goes through the 2029-30 campaign, making it the highest annual extension salary in NBA history.

The four-time NBA All-Star and 2022 All-NBA First Team selection averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 46.1 percent shooting from the field last season. Phoenix believes it made the right decision choosing Booker as its face over Kevin Durant, allowing the most talented scorer of his generation to be traded to the Houston Rockets. The Suns could look at reuniting Booker with Chris Paul, his mentor from 2020-23, but we will see what happens. For now, Booker is the undisputed man in Phoenix.
