The Indiana Hoosiers are the reigning national champions for many reasons, not the least of them being Curt Cignetti’s brilliant coaching. That coaching ability was on full display Thursday as Cignetti ripped Indiana transfer WR Nick Marsh for showing up to spring practice wearing gold cleats.

“I didn’t love those gold shoes he came out in today,” Cignetti said to reporters in a press conference. “He learned what getting your a– ripped is all about. I don’t know if that happened to him very often at Michigan State. That was before practice started.”

Marsh joins the Hoosiers as a notable transfer from Michigan State, where he recorded 100 career receptions for nine touchdowns and 1,311 yards.

Cignetti went on to say that Indiana still has work to do with its new transfers, but that Marsh has worked hard in practice.

“That was a wake-up call,” Cignetti said. “But he’s really worked hard, done a great job for us.”

Marsh ultimately changed into white cleats and went on to have a strong practice, highlighted by this smooth catch.

The Hoosiers are 27-2 in two seasons under Cignetti and appear to have one of the best incoming transfer classes in the country.
