Kevin Durant being a part of trade rumors should be considered an annual tradition at this point, but one Western Conference team has been especially prominent in these discussions as of late, the Houston Rockets.
As the 2nd seed in the Western Conference, the Rockets are already a gritty young team that leads the league in rebounds per game and has a top three defensive rating in the league.

While they have certainly exceeded expectations this season, the Rockets don’t have a player that can take over an offense and generate points efficiently in the playoffs. With the Phoenix Suns struggling and a rebuild in question, they may decide to blow it up and ship Durant to Houston.

If the deal were to get done, it would likely cost Houston multiple young stars and multiple draft picks, which some may say is too much for a 37-year old Durant. But the move would immediately make the Rockets title contenders and potentially the title favorites.
It boils down to what Phoenix asks for in return. If the Suns make an offer that Houston can’t refuse, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Durant in a Rockets uniform next season.
