The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 128-114 on Sunday and extended their historic 15-game winning streak to start the season. Only four other teams have started a season with a winning streak of this length or more.
The Cavaliers were short-handed coming into the game with Donovan Mitchell out due to rest. As the game went on, this was amplified as multiple Cavs players were hurt and had to leave the floor. Ty Jerome stepped up for Cleveland and finished with a career high 24 points.

Charlotte entered the game on the second night of a back-to-back and after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, had a rough night defensively against the Cavaliers. LaMelo Ball led the way for Charlotte with 31 points and 12 assists, but it wasn’t enough for a Cleveland team that shot 57% from the field.
The Hornets will travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Tuesday in an NBA Cup game and the Cavaliers will do the same on Tuesday in Boston.
