The Miami Dolphins have released veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Hill is an eight-time Pro Bowler and has been known as one of the best receivers of the decade, but is currently recovering from a severe knee injury.
He’s rehabbing from a dislocated knee and a torn ACL, meaning he may not play at all next season.
Regardless, he’s now an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
For the Dolphins, the move saves $22.8 million in salary cap space. It’s the second cut of the day after veteran edge Bradley Chubb was released Monday morning.
All eyes are now on QB Tua Tagovailoa, who is set to make $54 million in guaranteed salary next season.
