The NBA season concludes on Sunday and the Charlotte Hornets have plenty of reasons to be excited for the future. They’ve been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the start of the calendar year.

Star guards LaMelo Ball and Kon Knueppel have had a historic shooting season, joining Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the only other teammates in NBA history to each make at least 270 threes in the same season.

Curry and Thompson pulled off this feat twice, once in 2015-16 and again in 2022-23.

Knueppel is a standout rookie that has been a top-two candidate for Rookie of the Year all season. He led the entire league in made threes this season with 273 makes.

Ball finished just behind him in 2nd with 272 three-point buckets on the year. Their tandem of sharpshooting helped the Hornets bounce back after a slow start.

Overall, the 2025-26 campaign was a pleasantly surprising one for the Hornets, who look like a dangerous matchup in the NBA play-in.
