The Sacramento Kings have opted to waive veteran wing DeMar DeRozan according to ESPN. Both DeRozan and the Kings reportedly worked together on coming to the resolution.
He will have a partially guaranteed contract for next season and is expected to have interest from multiple contenders as he hits the free agent market.

Derozan, who turns 37 in August, continues to be a solid contributor in the backcourt as he enters his 17th season in the NBA. For his career DeRozan has averaged 21.1 point, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 47% shooting from the field.
He has also been named an All-Star three times throughout his career and has had 12 seasons averaging at least 20 points pergame.
DeRozan originally arrived in Sacramento in a trade with the Chicago Bulls in 2024.
