The U.S. Men’s National Team wasted no time putting the pedal to the metal against Türkiye on Thursday, with Auston Trusty scoring after a corner kick less then three minutes in.
Trusty’s impressive shot is officially the second-fastest World Cup goal in Team USA history.

While the goal gave the United States an early lead, much to the enjoyment of the Los Angeles crowd, Türkiye responded swiftly.
After less than 10 minutes of action, Arda Güler found the net to give Türkiye their first goal of the 2026 World Cup.
Team USA has already secured first place in Group D, but is looking to become the first squad in USMNT history to finish the group stage undefeated since 1930.
This team can certainly pull it off, but it won’t be without resistance from Türkiye.
