The Minnesota Timberwolves moved to 3-2 Friday night after securing the 119-116 win over the Denver Nuggets. The game came down to the wire and Anthony Edwards‘ late-game heroics helped Minnesota come out on top.
Edwards spoke after the game and was very clear about how the two teams feel about each other.

“They know when they see us they don’t like us, and I’m pretty sure they know we don’t like them,” Edwards said. “You seen the little brawl in between timeouts. It’s always a great game. I love going against those guys. Plus they got the best player in the league, so I look forward to it.”

Edwards was seemingly referring to a scuffle that occurred in the fourth quarter after Nuggets guard Christian Braun put Wolves big man Rudy Gobert on a poster. Gobert took offense and a small scuffle ensued, resulting in double technicals.
While Edwards gave credit to Nikola Jokic, calling him the best player in the world, his comments speak to the competitiveness that is present between the two teams. The Nuggets and Wolves won’t face off again until January 25th, but it’s bound to be must-see TV.
