Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was named the Western Conference player of the week on Monday, during which they went 3-0 and won by an average of 17.7 points per game. In those games, Edwards averaged an impressive 32.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.

While Minnesota started the season off slow, they have seemingly figured out how to implement Julius Randle into their system. As a result, they are red hot and coming off an eight-game winning streak. While the blockbuster trade that brought Randle in shook the locker room, Edwards has stepped up as a locker room leader.

Their blowout victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday made their winning streak the longest they’ve had in 21 years. Edwards put up a fiery 41 points while Jaden McDaniels finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Their winning streak was eventually snapped by the Indiana Pacers on Monday, but they are set to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday with all hands on deck.
