The Dallas Mavericks have had a rough season to say the least. At one point in recent weeks, they only had eight players available and warming up, not to mention the shocking trade that turned the NBA landscape upside down, much to the dismay of Mavericks fans.
After suffering an adductor strain in his debut for the team, Anthony Davis has been sidelined ever since as the Mavs continued to come down with injuries and fall down the Western Conference standings.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Davis is aiming to return at some point during the Mavericks’ upcoming four-game East Coast road trip. The final game of the trip is against Chicago on Sunday, so his return could be sometime between now and then.

While Dallas assigned Anthony Davis to the G-League this week to participate on practice, they’ve also reportedly urged him to avoid returning too early.
Stein also reported that Davis chose the non-surgical route to deal with the lingering injury. This is concerning as it could indicate that Davis is bypassing injury and pushing his body too far, too quickly. We can only wait and see how healthy he is upon the inevitable return to the court.
