During the 43rd minute of Friday’s Group D matchup between the United States and Australia, Alexa Freeman made it a 2-0 match before halftime with a beautiful goal.

He raced in for a header after Sergio Dest had his own shot deflected off a free kick. It was initially called offside, but the goal was counted after video replay review.
The goal was Freeman’s first in the World Cup and the second for the U.S. in Friday’s match.
In the 11th minute, the U.S. went up 1-0 when Folarin Balogun bounced a shot off of Australia’s Cameron Burgess and into the net.
If Team USA can hold on throughout the second half, it will put itself in position to win Group D.
