Alek Thomas, who was designated for assignment by Arizona on Friday, has been traded to Los Angeles, in return Arizona will acquire minor leaguer Jose Requena.

The 17-year-old Requena out of Venezuela has yet to play a game in the minor leagues.
Thomas was drafted by Arizona in the second-round of the 2018 draft and made his Major League debut in 2022.
He posted a .230/.273/.361 slash line through his 448 games with the Diamondbacks. With his best numbers, .249/.289/.370 coming in his 2025 campaign.
Thomas will now look to compete for a roster spot in an already crowed outfield.
The Dodgers currently have Alex Call, Andy Pages, Kyle Tucker and Teoscar Hernández listed as active outfielders.
