The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef took the world by storm. It bled into the NBA world as well… LeBron James was close friends with Drake, until being caught at a Kendrick Lamar concert.

It all started in June 2024, when LeBron was seen at The Pop Out concert in Inglewood. There, Kendrick performed new songs and LeBron clearly was enjoying himself.

This angered Drake so much that he released a freestyle rap in January 2025 titled “Fighting Irish Freestyle.” This was directed towards LeBron, who played high school basketball for the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish.
In February 2025, Drake took things to a whole other level. He was performing in Australia and he changed the lyrics to his song “Nonstop.” The song lyrics normally referenced LeBron, but Drake made it clear he is not the reference any longer.
Drake later covered up his LeBron tattoo with Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The tattoo cover-up occurred just recently, and it didn’t take long for LeBron to respond subtly. LeBron was spotted singing along to Kendrick’s “Not Like Us.”
Adin Ross defends Drake
Adin Ross is a popular streamer. He’s also close friends with Drake. He recently spoke about the fallout between LeBron and Drake, slamming the former in the process.
“You know what’s crazy about this chat, you know, as I’ve loved LeBron like my whole life, it’s like you just see how much of like a piece of s**t human he is, bro. Like guys, imagine your best friend for like 15 years and he’s met his actual children, like, you know what I’m trying to say?
“He’s met his actual children, and you’re rapping to a song about him being a pedophile. Like it’s sad. And again, this is not my beef, but it’s like I’m very close with Drake, and it’s just sad, bro. It’s sad.
“You guys call me parasocial, but it does affect the way that I like LeBron. You know, how could it not? How could you respect somebody who has no loyalty toward someone they’ve known for 15 years? You know what I’m trying to say?
“And that’s just where it comes down to, chat… Come on, bro. Y’all know this is wrong,’ y’all know it’s whack.”
LeBron has chosen his side in the rap war between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. And it looks like there’s no turning back.
