Villanova Wildcats guard Devin Royal scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead his team to a 95–66 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday night.

Adam Oumiddoch made three 3-pointers and finished with 17 points and six rebounds. Luigi Suigo shot 8 of 9 from the field and recorded 16 points.

Villanova took the lead with 18 minutes, 20 seconds left in the first half and did not trail again. Suigo scored 10 of his 16 points before halftime, helping the Wildcats build a 44–28 lead at the break.

Tristen Wilson led Holy Cross with 17 points. Chuck Hare added 10 points and nine rebounds.

According to The Associated Press, Villanova outscored Holy Cross by 27 points and held a 44–28 halftime advantage. The Wildcats are 1–1 this season. The Crusaders are 0–2.
