Los Angeles Lakers star guard Austin Reaves has agreed to sign a four-year, $185 million maximum contract to remain with the Lakers, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The reported deal includes a player option for the final season of the deal, the 2029-30 campaign. It is officially the richest deal for an undrafted player in NBA history.

Reaves is coming off the best season of his career so far after averaging 23.3 points 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in 53 appearances in 2025-26.

The arrival of Luka Doncic in the season prior seemed to open up Reaves’ game even further and they spent most of the season as one of the best backcourt duos in the NBA.

It was certainly no guarantee that Reaves would remain with the Lakers and he reportedly received interest from other teams, but L.A. made sure to keep him in town.
