Packers’ Josh Jacobs released from jail amid investigation

Green Bay Packers runningback Josh Jacobs was released from jail on Wednesday after being arrested on five domestic violence charges, according to a statement from his attorneys.

While the investigation is still active and ongoing, no charges have been officially filed against Jacobs as of publication.

“The Brown County District Attorney’s Office is not yet prepared to make a formal charging decision,” District Attorney David L. Lasee said in a statement. “Our office has requested additional investigation, as there is reason to believe that additional evidence may exist that would impact whether criminal charges are appropriate, and what charges would be issued.”

The 28-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after an alleged domestic disturbance on May 23. that required a police response. The details surrounding the incident have not been made public. Jacobs has since denied all of the allegations.

He was initially booked on charges of battery — domestic abuse, criminal damage to property — domestic abuse, disorderly conduct — domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.

Jacobs earned a first-team All-Pro selection in 2022 and is a three-time Pro Bowler. He’s now entering his third season with the Green Bay Packers after spending his first five seasons on the Las Vegas Raiders.
