After being drafted first overall by the Washington Wizards in 2010 and spending nearly decade with the team, he’s now returning to Washington, D.C. and joining the top-ranked HBCU in the country.
Howard is coming off an impressive 24-11 season, capped off by the program’s first-ever tournament game victory. Wall will reportedly play an active role in a number of areas, including recruiting, evaluations, roster construction and transfer targets.
He is widely regarded as one of the top point guards of the 2010s. He averaged 19.0 points and 9.2 assists per game in nine seasons for the Wizards, proving to be one of the fastest and most athletic guards in NBA history.
Severe injuries derailed the second half of Wall’s career as he missed several seasons and went on to play short stints with the Houston Rockets and L.A. Clippers. He later joined Amazon Prime Video as an NBA analyst for this season.
On the court, he was known for his elite basketball IQ and vision. This priceless basketball experience should come in handy for Wall in his new role.
