Former NFL defensive end Josh Mauro has died at the age of 35, his family announced in a statement on Tuesday. No cause of death was released.
“With many tears and broken hearts, yet anchored in the unshakable certainty that our precious Josh Mauro is now healed and made new-living in the presence of the Lord—we humbly covet your prayers as our family walks through the devastating loss of our amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend,” Greg Mauro wrote on Facebook.

Mauro spent eight seasons in the NFL from 2014-2021, including two stints with the Arizona Cardinals and lone seasons with both the Raiders and the New York Giants.
Across 80 career games and 40 starts, he recorded 130 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles.
