The Chicago Bulls have officially waived guard Jaden Ivey following controversial comments that he made during a recent rant he posted to social media, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The Bulls later confirmed the move to be due to “conduct detrimental to the team.”

The 24-year-old guard has posted several videos to social media in which he discusses his personal beliefs. In the latest post, Ivey condemned the NBA for celebrating Pride Month.

He specifically called out the Bulls for putting on a “Pride Night” to acknowledge and celebrate the LGBTQ community.

“They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month,’ to celebrate unrighteousness,” Ivey said on a livestream. “They proclaim it. They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it in the streets — unrighteousness. So how is it that one can’t speak righteousness? [Who] are they to say that, ‘Man, this man is crazy’?”

Ivey only appeared in four games for the Bulls after being traded to Chicago by the Detroit Pistons less than two months ago.

Ivey’s Instagram account has over 200,000 followers. His most recent comments appear to be the catalyst for the Bulls’ decision.
