The Chicago Bulls are preparing to start the 2022-23 season without their starting point guard, Lonzo Ball. This will be a test for the Bulls as they will begin the season with the 10th-toughest strength of schedule in the NBA.

The Eastern Conference has become a lot stronger compared to last season. The Nets somewhat figured out their internal problems and look to have a solid team. The Celtics will look to have a revenge season, and the Cavaliers landed Donovan Mitchell in a trade.

These are only a few of the teams that have improved as the entire East appeared to get stronger. The Bulls will need to come together while Lonzo recovers from his second knee surgery.

Chicago could possibly look to sign available free agent guards to start the season, or they could keep the currently constructed roster. There’s no word on the Bulls actively looking at the free agent market.

Chicago’s start could prepare them for the playoffs

As mentioned earlier, the Bulls will start the season with the 10th-toughest strength of schedule in the NBA. Chicago opens their season against the Miami Heat, and they’ll see the Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Milwaukee Bucks during their first 20 games.

To make things worse, the Bulls will play the defending Eastern Conference Champions, the Boston Celtics, three times in their first 17 games. The one positive to this is this could bring the team together as one, which could help down in the playoffs.

Will the Bulls make the playoffs in a tough Eastern Conference? Can they hold the fort while Lonzo is out? These questions will be answered when the season starts on October 19.
