Stephen A. Smith says Anthony Edwards is “one of the most exciting shows” in the NBA

LeBron James is arguably the greatest to ever play the game of basketball, but he will not be in the NBA forever.

Does the league have its next dominant face to take over?

Anthony Edwards has the T-Wolves on a hot streak

Anthony Edwards has risen to the call as the guy.

A former No. 1 overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, the Atlanta (Ga.) native has made the Minnesota Timberwolves a fun team to watch. Edwards a three-time All-Star that has Michael Jordan’s mentality of destroy everything. He wants to win championships, and the 23-year-old shows up every night with that mindset.

Edwards is having a career season in scoring (27.3 ppg) and three-point shooting (39.4 percent).

He is fourth in the league in scoring and 10 matchups in March where he had 20 or more points. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound shooting guard put on a show Tuesday versus the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic had an all time triple-double performance that included 61 points, but it was not enough to beat Edwards. “Ant-Man” had his foot on the gas with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists — coming two assists shy of a triple double himself. Edwards willed his team to a one-point victory (140-139) in double overtime over the Nuggets.

Minnesota is tied with the Memphis Grizzlies at 44-32, but Memphis has the sixth seed and Minnesota has the seventh seed (play-in tournament). The Timberwolves will battle the Grizzlies on April 10 in Memphis.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith loves the passion Edwards plays with. He compared the young star to Michael Jordan.

“Ant-Man is one of the greatest shows in basketball,” Smith said Wednesday on ESPN’s First Take.

“And I’m gonna encourage the NBA to continue to watch this brother and put that brother on national television because he is something to behold. I’m just watching his game, it’s Jordan-esque. He shows up when it counts. He is going to respond at some point … This is what he does. When you talk about who should want to see as these playoffs begin to unfold, that is a brother I want seeing as often as possible. He is that brother you can get the ball to and say ‘take me there.'”

Anthony Edwards calls teammates ‘soft’ after fourth straight loss

Edwards is a stud and a problem for any opponent in the upcoming NBA Playoffs. Jordan was a killer in the playoffs, especially when he had the reliable help around him. Ant-Man has the star power, but he also has quality help around him.

We will see what kind of a run the T’Wolves make.
