SGA’s 35-point night leads Thunder past Warriors

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander attempting to drive to the basket

The Oklahoma City Thunder were victorious over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night with a final score of 105-101. OKC jumped out to a lead early in the first and ran with it, ending the first quarter up by 16.

Golden State was able to stay within arms reach throughout the second quarter, which set them up for a gradual comeback in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was defined by firm defense, with the final eight minutes being especially tough. Both teams made just a couple of field goals in the last eight minutes of the fourth quarter, when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would make some clutch free throws and secure to win.

SGA led the Thunder with 35 points and 9 rebounds while Isaiah Hartenstein finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Warriors star Stephen Curry was out for the matchup while he continues to recover from injury, an absence that was felt dearly on the offensive end. Johnathan Kuminga finished with 19 points as the Warriors converted just 36% of their shot attempts.

OKC is now 14-4 on the season while the Warriors drop to 12-5.
