Philadelphia 76ers

76ers make history with 52 different starting lineups this season

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a turbulent season to say the least. Severe injuries and inconsistent effort have headlined their year and they just found themselves on the wrong side of history.

When the Sixers announced Tuesday’s starting lineup of Quentin Grimes, Lonnie Walker IV, Ricky Council IV, Justin Edwards and Adem Bona, they officially broke the record for most unique starting lineups by an NBA team in a single season.

Prior to the season, expectations for the Sixers were high as they had arguably the best offseason of any squad in the league. After inking a deal with Paul George, who was expected to be an elite duo with Joel Embiid, injuries ravaged both players. Embiid’s long-lasting knee injuries affected his season before it even began, while George’s  own knee issues sidelined him later on in the season.

The Sixers’ entire roster has missed at least some time this season due to injury and the result is a disappointing season that many Philly fans would like to forget.
