Ron Harper played 15 years in the NBA and won five NBA titles. He also played alongside some of the best players in league history, like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant.
Harper is certainly a fan of his era and recently posted on X his opinions of today’s league and the way players flop for calls.
“This @NBA season has been more free throws than any season with bad @NBAOfficial games. Guys fall down and flop and get free throws and it’s bad… Missed calls and you telling me that this era is better? Hell NO.”
Harper is certainly passionate about the game, and he wants to see basketball played the right way. There were players from his era who also flopped, including a teammate on the Chicago Bulls, Dennis Rodman.
Overall, the league has adopted a more flop-style offense than ever, and it would be a better experience for fans if the referees wouldn’t reward such actions on a high level.
