Josh Hart calls Knicks ticket prices ‘ridiculous’ ahead of Game 3

As Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals approach, one of the most talked-about storylines has been about how fans are even going to get in the doors of Madison Square Garden.

Ticket prices for those two games were already high coming into the series, but the Knicks’ impressive play against the Spurs on the road has them two wins away from an NBA championship.

While speaking to reporters on Sunday, Knicks guard Josh Hart expressed his dissatisfaction with those prices.

“I kind of wish the ticket prices weren’t as crazy as they are,” Hart said. “I feel like a lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time unfortunately aren’t able to get into the building. The cheapest ticket $7,000, $8,000. That’s ridiculous.”

After Friday’s Game 2 win over San Antonio, prices for Game 3 skyrocketed. The cheapest tickets were over $12,000 each at on point.

Those prices have dipped some after it was confirmed that United States President Donald Trump will be in attendance on Monday.

With much higher security measures in place, the demand for these tickets has decreased, but they are still going for over $7,000 each.

“It’s frustrating that more people can’t get into buildings, and more people can’t get into buildings at lower prices,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver told reporters. “But markets are markets when it comes to — especially with a secondary market, the value of tickets.”
