There’s no secret that the WNBA belongs to Caitlin Clark. In one sense, she’s deserving, because of her play. In another way, she’s not, as she’s only in her second year.

A’ja Wilson is clearly the best player in the WNBA, yet, she doesn’t receive half the press Clark does. Another WNBA player who doesn’t get talked about as much, at least for her on-court play, is Brittney Griner.

Griner’s Atlanta Dream recently played Clark’s Indiana Fever and in the game, Griner fouled out. As she sat on the bench, she was caught using a slur toward Clark.

Did Griner mean any harm by her words? I doubt it. But any negativity directed toward Clark is certainly going to cause an uproar.

Clark is the face of the league and without her, the WNBA would still be a struggling league. With her, they are starting to become prime time and that’s good for Griner and the rest of the WNBA players.
