The Boston Celtics faced off against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday in a nail-biting overtime matchup. The Pacers secured the 135-132 win to give Boston their first loss of the season.
Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum drew gasps in the first quarter after an awkward collision with Indiana’s Andrew Nembhard. Tatum had already landed after jumping for the ball as Nembhard was in the air trying to catch the ball, causing his body to crash into Tatum’s head. After Boston called a timeout and had Tatum checked out by the team’s medical staff, he remained in the game.

After the game, he provided an update on the injury.
“Came across and hit my head. The way it jerked kind of just shot down my neck and my arm was tingling. And I was in some pain for a little bit and it went away.”

While injuries of this nature are scary, it sounds like Tatum is feeling good and if he shows up on an injury report this week, it will likely just be cautionary.
