It’s that time of year when NBA players and fans of the NBA 2K series overreact to ratings ahead of the NBA season. For years, basketball heads rush to see how their favorite players stack up in the latest version of the game, and the non-stop debates of who’s right or wrong dominates the conversation before a basketball is dribbled in an actual game.

Just a few days ago, the first ratings were released, and to no surprise, NBA 2K fans took to social media to express their approval, disapproval, or apathy of what Ronnie 2K deemed the correct ratings of these players.

For third-year Charlotte Hornets point guard, LaMelo Ball, his rating was too met with mixed reviews. The youngest Ball brother came in at a solid 87 rating. If this were grade school, he’d be looking at a nice B-plus (considering we’re grading on a 10-point scale that is). Not too shabby for achieving all of this before the age of 21.

While LaMelo has yet to actually comment publicly on his rating, some NBA players took to social media to lament their displeasure of the game’s rating system.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson seemed not to take their ratings too well, and took to social media to express their disdain.

Seeing how some players as noted above, have not taken the news too well on their rating, see what the fans think of LaMelo’s NBA 2K23 rating.
