Yoshinobu Yamamoto had an impressive game on the mound Saturday, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers take down the Chicago White Sox 7-1.

Shohei Ohtani made his return as a designated hitter after a cautionary one-game absence in the wake of knee inflammation. He wasted no time showing the world that he feels fine, rattling off a 409′ solo home run on the second pitch of the game.

Max Muncy kept L.A.’s hot start going with a 415′ two-run home run just a few minutes later.

Yamamoto made his mark from the mound, keeping the White Sox completely hitless throughout the matchup.

After three White Sox batter were sent back to the dugout, the Dodgers got on base with a few walks in the second inning.

They were unable to convert these into runs, but Yamamoto struck out two more batters in the bottom of the frame to keep it a 3-0 game.

In the top of the third, Kyle Tucker made it 4-0 with a one-run fly ball single. Once again, three White Sox batter were either caught out or went down swinging.

That remained the case for several more innings as L.A. held on to a four-run lead. That lead extended to five runs on an RBI walk in the sop of the sixth inning.

As Chicago remained without a hit, Muncy made it a 7-0 game with another two-run homer in the eighth.

After an evening of silence, Chicago finally got on the board in the top of the ninth when Tristan Peters hit a 388′ solo home run.

Edgar Quero went on to get out on a fly ball to center field before the Dodgers replaced Yamamoto with Alex Vesia.

With one out, Everson Pereira was retired on a hit out to Muncy at third base. Miguel Vargas hit a fly ball out to center field with one last chance as Andy Pages made the catch to seal the victory.
