The Los Angeles Dodgers’ offseason addition Kyle Tucker has failed to play up to form during his first season in the City of Angeles.
On Jan. 21 Sanjo Chen of MLB.com reported on the Los Angelese Dodger’s newest acquisition.

Tucker was coming a spectacular season with the Chicago Cubs and was arguably the largest name on the free agent market.
The Dodgers signed Tucker to a four-year $240 million as reported by Chen.
But through his 91 games with the team this season, Tucker has yet to reach the same form from seasons past.
In his last five Major League seasons, Tucker has posted a WAR of 4.5 or higher, his batting average this season of .244 is the worst of his career since his rookie season in 2018.
Not only has his average fallen, but Tucker has seen a 36-point drop is OBP, an 89-point drop in his SLG % and 41-point fall in his OPS+.
His .716 OPS ranks last among the Dodgers’ qualified hitters, 91 points behind the next closest player, Andy Pages.
One major issue with his game this season is the hearty jump in strikeout rate.
During the 2025 season and through 500 at-bats, Tucker struck out 88 times for a strikeout rate of 17.6%.
This season, through his 328 at-bats, Tucker has gone down on strikes 76 times for a rate of 23%.
However, even with his struggles at the plate this season, the Dodgers currently sit 11.5 games ahead of the second place Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West.
Likewise, the Dodger offense has been firing on all cylinders.
The team leads the majors in both OBP and OPS and is top three in runs, hits, RBIs, walks and average.
Both Tucker and Dodgers fans will hope to see him return to his usual form in the second half of the season.
