As the new year approached, the Washington Wizards slipped past the Milwaukee Bucks by one point, thanks to CJ McCollum. The veteran guard hit a tough shot with one second left on the clock, giving the Wizards the 114-113 victory.

McCollum finished with 18 points, while Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington each added 20 points. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 33 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough.
The Wizards haven’t had much to celebrate all season long with a record of 8-24, but they certainly were celebrating on New Year’s Eve.
