It wasn’t pretty, but the No. 24 Tennessee Volunteers narrowly escaped with a 87-82 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in Tuesday’s thrilling double-overtime battle.

Tennessee guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie did a little bit of everything, finishing with 18 points, five assists and six steals.
Star forward Nate Ament led the team in scoring with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The Volunteers shot just 37% from the field in the matchup and knocked down just six of their 24 three-point attempts.
For the Aggies, guard Jacari Lane finished with 20 points, nine assists and two steals. They struggled from the field as a team well, but made 13 of their 43 long-range attempts.
Tennessee improves to 12-5 with the victory, but likely won’t improve their ranking very much.
