The No. 3 Michigan Wolverines held off a strong comeback attempt by the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans on Friday, securing an 83-71 victory in the intense rivalry showdown.

Both offenses started off slowly, but the Wolverines came alive midway through the first half and jumped out to a double digit lead.
By halftime, Michigan had a 42-26 advantage.
The second half was a different story however, as Jeremy Fears Jr. led the Spartans to an impressive comeback and helped Michigan State take a two-point lead with less than eight minutes to play.
The Wolverines’ elite offense made big plays when it mattered, taking over the final five minutes of the game and securing an 83-71 win.
They improve to 20-1 with the victory and the Spartans fall to 19-3 with the loss.
