The Hurricanes scored first and never looked back, stopping the Tar Heels from securing a lead at all from start to finish.

On the defensive end, they held the Tar Heels to just 39.7% shooting from the field.
Malik Reaneau put up 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Miami while Ernest Udeh Jr. had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman Caleb Wilson had 12 points, six rebounds and three blocks for UNC, but was stopped by the Hurricanes down the stretch.
The victory helped the Hurricanes improve to 19-5 while the Tar Heels fall to the same record.
