After completing his first Olympic run with Team USA in Paris this past summer and helping secure a gold medal, Warriors superstar Steph Curry locks himself to the organization that took him 7th overall back in 2009 after agreeing to a one-year $62.6 million extension.
When he officially signs his extension, he will be scheduled to make $178 million over the next three seasons.

His extension is limited to one year as a result of the NBA’s over-38 rule, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. Under the NBA collective bargaining agreement, teams cannot offer contracts lasting four or more years to players who are more than 38 years old or will turn 38 during the contract. Curry will turn 38 in 2026, at the start of this new extension.
The four-time NBA champion, member of the NBA 75th Anniversary team, and the all-time leader in 3-pt field goals made said after a disappointing season for his team:

“I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life. That’s always been my goal. And I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly, and the league has changed quickly, so we’re trying to adapt and evolve. Until then, I’ll let everyone know if that changes. But right now, of course, the goal is always to be, to finish my career with one team.”
That seems to be the exact trajectory he is on and will be finishing his 18th season once his contract is up.
He will be taking the court this season without his splash brother Klay Thompson, who he played 11 seasons with and captured four championships alongside as he departed for the Dallas Mavericks this summer. The heart and soul of this team, Draymond Green will still be alongside Curry as they try to add to their legacy run.
They open up their 2024-25 season in Portland against TrailBlazers on October 23rd.
