The Golden State Warriors have officially clinched a spot in the Emirates NBA Cup quarterfinal thanks to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Mavericks defeated the Denver Nuggets in an NBA Cup matchup on Friday night, thus allowing the Warriors to clinch one of the top three Western Conference spots. Dallas had a dominant offensive effort and grabbed a lead that ballooned to 24 points.

Despite a furious comeback by the Nuggets, Dallas was able to keep them at bay and come out on top 123-120.
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic returned to play on Friday after a short absence to welcome his newborn son into the world. In his return, he showed no signs of rust and finished with 33 points, 17 rebounds and ten assists.

Jokic’s unreal performance was not enough to get the job done as Denver’s second option Jamal Murray, struggled from the floor and finished shooting just 4-for-16.
For Dallas, Naji Marshall had a great scoring night and put up a career-high 26 points.
The Warriors have been one of the biggest surprises of this NBA season and are dominating the league. In storybook fashion, they’ve now clinched a quarterfinal spot thanks to the high-level play from none other than Klay Thompson and the Mavericks.
