The Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies engaged in an intense battle on Tuesday, one that went into overtime. The 76ers wound up the winners with a 139-136 victory, ending the year on a high note.
Rookie VJ Edgecombe stole the show with 25 points, capping his performance with a dagger three-pointer from 25 feet with just 1.7 seconds left in OT to seal the victory.

Ja Morant nearly willed Memphis to a comeback, pouring in a game-high 40 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Cedric Coward added career highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Grizzlies dropped their second straight.
Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey each added 34 points as the 76ers improved to 17-14, while the Grizzlies fell to 15-18.
