The San Antonio Spurs completely took over the second half of Sunday’s Game 4 matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers, taking a 3-1 lead with a 114-93 victory.

Victor Wembanyama returned on Sunday after missing Game 3 with a concussion he suffered in Game 2, but the Blazers had a slightly stronger first half.

Portland led by two after a low-scoring first quarter and took full control in the second. San Antonio shot just 7-of-22 from the floor in the second frame as the Blazers knocked down 11 of their 19 shot attempts.

By halftime, Portland was ahead by 17.

The second half saw the Spurs take the wheel quickly. In an eerily fast fashion, San Antonio made Portland’s offense go cold while finally finding a rhythm on the other end.

Wembanyama’s defensive impact was as high as ever and the Spurs had over twice as many third-quarter points as the Blazers.

The Portland crowd was rowdy in the final frame as the game was tied at 74 with 12 minutes to go.

Home court advantage proved to be not enough for the Blazers to stop San Antonio’s takeover. Points came from everywhere for the Spurs as they built a 20-point lead down the stretch and coasted to victory.

Wembanyama finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks while De’Aaron Fox put up 28 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

For the Blazers, Deni Avdija had 26 points and seven rebounds while Jrue Holiday had 20 points and six rebounds.

James Parker contributed to this story.
