The NBA Cup continued on Friday night and the San Antonio Spurs were looking to steal a win against the Denver Nuggets, without their star player, Victor Wembanyama.

The Nuggets were once again led by their duo Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Jokic put up another impressive stat line of 21 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists.

Murray went off for 37 points and seven assists, but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome the Spurs. Devin Vassell had himself a game for San Antonio. He scored a season-high 35 points on 12-17 shooting, including 7-9 from three.

Overall, the Spurs had seven players reach double figures and they held on to defeat the Nuggets 139-136. The victory advanced the Spurs to the NBA Cup quarterfinals.
