The San Antonio Spurs demolished the Minnesota Timberwolves 133-95 on Wednesday to tie the series 1-1.

It didn’t take long for San Antonio’s interior advantage to break through in the first quarter. The Timberwolves came out ice-cold from deep and the Spurs dominated the rebounds, simply getting up more shots as a result.

Things weren’t great offensively for San Antonio, but they held a seven-point lead after 12 minutes. The next two quarters were a display of control and supremacy by the Spurs.

All five starters were putting up points consistently as the Timberwolves continued to struggle. The matchup quickly became a blowout of epic proportions.

By halftime, San Antonio led by 24.

The domination bled over into the third quarter, even after the Timberwolves starting making more shots. Turnovers and overall ball security remained an issue for Minnesota as the Spurs put up 39 points in the third frame.

Their advantage grew to as many as 47 points in the fourth as the dust settled.

Stephon Castle led the Spurs in scoring with 21 points to go along with two steals while Victor Wembanyama finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks.

For Minnesota, Anthony Edwards came off the bench for 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
