The South Dakota Coyotes men's basketball team opened the 2026–27 season with a 95–57 home win over the Mount Marty Lancers on Monday in Vermillion, S.D.
Jahni Summers scored 17 points for South Dakota, hitting 5 of 8 field-goal attempts — including 2 of 4 from 3-point range — and all 5 free throws. Vince Buzelis added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, making 4 of 5 shots and 6 of 8 free throws. Kajus Kublickas finished with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting, 2-of-3 from 3-point range and 4-of-6 at the line.

Mount Marty guard Mande Wanlemvo also scored 17 points. Sawyer Schultz contributed 9 points and Jackson Edman had 8 for the Lancers.
South Dakota hosts Northern Kentucky on Wednesday. Mount Marty visits Omaha on Tuesday.
